Automotive
Everything you Need for the Automotive Industry from First Draft to Lean Manufacturing
For over 100 years the automotive industry has been trying to shorten manufacturing lead times. It is now time for a paradigm shift. Today Additive Manufacturing is more than a prototyping technology. With the help of 3D printing we can offer new innovative methods in the automotive industry thanks to PLG Global’s engineering and traditional manufacturing infrastructure.
PLG Global’s automotive expertise and manufacturing know how will help you explore our
value added design and engineering services.
What we do in Automotive Industry
Broad Additive Manufacturing Menu
Many service bureaus work to be the expert in the technologies they use such as FDM or
SLA. However, each technology comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. You can
easily access all Additive Manufacturing technologies with the international network of PLG
Global. Please feel free to end us your RFQs for the following 3D technologies that includes
MJF, SLS, FDM, SLA, DLS, PolyJet, SLM, EBM, DMLS and Binder Jetting.
Low-Volume-Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing is generally known as rapid prototyping. Other service
bureaus mostly produce one to five parts. The number of parts to be produced and the cost per
piece are directly proportional. You can benefit from our vacuum casting and RIM Reaction
Injection Moulding (RIM) technologies. Simply send us your data and we will evaluate it and
advise you of how our low volume manufacturing processes could help with your application.
PLG Global can provide you with a portable 3D scanning network which is open to use at any
location. We can offer you optical and laser based professional systems worldwide depending
on your requirements.
Economies of Agglomeration
In some parts of the world a wide range of advantages are offered to service bureaus based on
local markets. At PLG Global we can offer top quality services with the most affordable
prices. All you need to do is to sign a NDA after which you will be ready to be matched with
the perfect business partner for your project.
Post-Processing
Surface quality remains the most common disadvantage of Additive Manufacturing. Some
post processing might be needed even though SLA or Polyjet technologies are used. We care
about post processing and have expert finishing and post processing teams.
Our reverse engineers can prepare your STL data ready for 3D printing and convert any
surface into a solid model. We can also provide a sketch to 3D design service. All we need is
an idea from you and we can design, prototype & manufacture it as per your requirements.
Traditional Manufacturing Techniques
Some designs can be produced at lower cost by using traditional techniques even though we
utilise the latest digital manufacturing technologies. PLG Global Manufacturing Network
offers its partners Metal Casting, CNC Milling, and Plastic Injection Services.
PLG Global works with industrial 3D Printing equipment which makes it possible to
manufacture parts which cannot be produced any other way. We use 3D printers that produce
objects by adding material instead of subtracting it (CNC Machining). It becomes possible for
us to manufacture more complex shapes and designs.
Depending on your requirements our material engineers can offer you certain materials both
for Additive Manufacturing and for traditional techniques. Please fill in your contact details
on our website and we will be in touch to discuss what materials would suit your specific
application.
