Zortrax Resin 3D printing – speed & surgical precision

The Zortrax Inkspire is a 3D printer using resin and UV-light for its processes. Thus, this printer is about 8x faster and 9x more precise than leading SLA 3D printers. The Inkspire’s printing process is based on photosensitive resin that cures in UV light. That means that the printer cures its 3D objects by illuminating the resin with light. The integrated LCD screen filters this light and consequently determines the shape of the object. Through this different approach to the printing process, the Inkspire manufactures more smooth and detailed parts than FDM 3D printers (as FDM is a basic layer-by-layer approach).

Flawless detail combined with constant speed

The Zortrax Inkspire works – as all printers from the Zortrax family – with a range of external filaments, as long as they are cured by 405 nm light. During the whole process, the printer maintains constant accuracy and speed. With one printer producing 50 to 80 parts in 51 minutes, 30 printers can an approximate produce a monthly output of 650’000 to 1’000’000 parts. Thus, it is a perfect fit for medium-volume production series. Since the printing speed is not decreased by the number of prints in one session, the Zortrax Inkspire can produce many versions of prototypes in one go. These differing prototypes go through an evaluation phase directly and then the best suitable option will be chosen.
