DAMM 2020: The Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon

Fairs and exhibitions have always been a huge accelerator for high-tech industries such as the additive manufacturing segment. Due to  social distancing those events have been cancelled lately. Thanks to present communication technologies, the Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon allows many people to exchange the latest market developments virtually. Thus, Aerodef & 3Dnatives, Rapid + TCT, Link3D came together to announce the A.M.-industry’s first +26 hour Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon.

PLG Global is your local additive manufacturer with Carbon's Digital Light Synthesis in the United Kingdom!

PLG Global visits the Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon

PLG Global team members Cem Severcan and Maximilian Lehmann have attended the exhibition and met over 50 potential partners and profiteers of the PLG Global Manufacturing Network. We want to keep connecting the additive manufacturing industry globally. – Always, even in times of social distancing.
Carbon booth
Let’s have a look at the Carbon booth! The DAMM set-up is easily understood: Every exhibiting company has their own table with representatives and the interested ones are joining for online video chats.

In rapid prototyping, users are always looking for the functionality. By the help of MJF, you can feel the comfort of functional, high quality prototypes. Physical properties of PA12 is really effective but it has also have some chemical resistance.

MJF is a powder bed based system therefore you do not need to think about the support structures. For especially complex geometries, watertight application and robust housings, there is no better alternative in the 3D printing market.

Carbon 3D Printer Installation M2

Carbon 3D Printer Installation M2

Today, Carbon’s 3D printer M2 is being installed into our office in Nottingham! Due to the situation we are limiting the number of participants down to two: Our team member Cem Severcan and Carbon’s technical expert Paul Holland. Four other colleagues who stay with their families abroad are joining the 3D printer installation via Video-Chat. As you can see, the corona virus is changing our all’s working environment. Though, the PLG Global family stays optimistic and excited about the future. See our brand-new 3D printer! Carbon’s M2 with specifications explained by Carbon’s leading technician Paul Holland.

Before installing our M2 3D printer, Paul Holland, the Carbon representative leading the instalment of our printer explains how our engineers have to insert pressure differentials and internal cavities into the 3D printed objects. Preparation is the most efficient way to solve future problems before they happen. Education is the key to the Link to the Future, join PLG Global and benefit from our local digital manufacturing services.

Zortrax 3D Printers

zortrax m200 plus 3d printer

Zortrax 3D Printers

Zortrax 3D printers are reliable manufacturing machines and connectable to effective 3D printing plants. With the Zortrax M200 Plus you can monitor your productions with its built-in camera via the web and keep track of the material status. That’s one of the reasons why it was awarded in 2018 for 3D Hub’s Plug N’ Play award. Additionally, the Zortrax M300 Dual combines a large build-volume with a dual extrusion system and all other features of Zortrax’ 3D printers. It’s workspace measuring 265x265x300 mm is big enough to print large parts in one printing session. On the other hand, the Zortrax Inkspire. A 3D printer using resin and UV-light for its processes. Thus, this printer is about 8x faster and 9x more precise than leading SLA 3D printers. Its printing process is based on photosensitive resin that cures in UV light. That means that the printer cures its 3D objects by illuminating the resin with light. We offer various 3D printing technologies. Consult our competencies in our in-house production plant in Nottingham.

Last but not least, the Zortrax Apoller is a smart device for automatically post-processing 3D printed parts. After finishing the printing process, it corrects the visible layer traces of the FDM technology with acetone vapors or MEK. Make your 3D models look similar to injection-molded parts. As we are used from Zortrax hardware – the Apoller works with all external printers using ABS, HIPS and ASA-based filaments.

Zortrax FDM 3D Printing-Technologies

Here are the Zortrax M200 Plus & M300 FDM 3D printers with a wide range of filaments.

Zortrax SLA 3D Printer

Zortrax’ Inkspire is the only but very reliable SLA 3D printer.

Zortrax 3D Printing Tips

  •  Keep an eye on your filament storage à Because the filament-end detector doesn’t cover your storage units 😉·
  • Different Prototypes require different 3D printing technologies
  •  Zortrax 3D printer are very reliable, but are not supposed to be left without any supervision

Zortrax' competitive Advantages

  • Zortrax provides open source hardware, that means you can use any 3D printing filament that is suitable for your printer’s specifications (see your printers pages).
  • The filaments from our Polish partner are super cheap and available locally. Visit our store and check out the price for your favorite filament.

The world of additive manufacturing and the Coronavirus

News from a global acting 3D printing company

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating virus.

The rapid spread of the Coronavirus originating in Wuhan, China is shaking the global economy. The outbreak has affected every major industry in the world from entertainment to technology. As the team of PLG Global, we want to reassure all our partners that any business shared with our Chinese partners, has not (yet) been affected.

Furthermore, we are fully confident in offering the option of outsourcing your production to a different facility in the United Kingdom or Europe. If you are struggling with project deadlines due to Chinese factory closures, we have the capacity within our Additive Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping and CNC-departments.

Please visit our website for our in-house competencies and our global manufacturing network.

Nevertheless, we are sending good thoughts to all the people in need.
