DAMM 2020: The Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon

Fairs and exhibitions have always been a huge accelerator for high-tech industries such as the additive manufacturing segment. Due to  social distancing those events have been cancelled lately. Thanks to present communication technologies, the Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon allows many people to exchange the latest market developments virtually. Thus, Aerodef & 3Dnatives, Rapid + TCT, Link3D came together to announce the A.M.-industry’s first +26 hour Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon.

PLG Global is your local additive manufacturer with Carbon's Digital Light Synthesis in the United Kingdom!

PLG Global visits the Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon

PLG Global team members Cem Severcan and Maximilian Lehmann have attended the exhibition and met over 50 potential partners and profiteers of the PLG Global Manufacturing Network. We want to keep connecting the additive manufacturing industry globally. – Always, even in times of social distancing.

Coach and Bus UK Show 2019

Coach and Bus UK Show Background

The Coach & Bus UK Show is an ultimate domestic exhibition for coaches, buses and other vehicles at the NEC in Birmingham. In the event in October 2019, 70 of the latest vehicle-technologies were presented. Including low and zero emission technologies. Furthermore, our representing team member Cem Severcan explained the showcase of the latest hybrid, gas and electric models from leading manufacturers. Coach and Bus UK is a local exhibition for businesses in the Midlands-area of the United Kingdom – perfect fit for the PLG Global family. Your reliable, local and digital manufacturing plant providing manufacturing services perfectly fitting your needs.

The Coach and Bus UK Show offers a wide range of insights into the latest trends of the mobility industry. As always, this exhibition was a perfect opportunity to connect with all people from the automotive industry (especially because it is more local than other exhibitions). We have collected numerous contacts of partners from Nottingham, Birmingham and London. Everybody was interested in implementing Carbon’s technology, the Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) in their value chain in order to reduce production costs. As the second company implementing this ground-breaking technology in the UK. We are starting our production with our official Carbon 3D printer. Stay up to date on our Social Media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) and do not miss any news!

Carbon 3D

Plg Global Carbon 3D Printer

Carbon 3D

Carbon  3D is an American additive manufacturing company founded in 2013 by Jo and Phillip DeSimone, Alex and Nikita Ermoshkin, Edward Samulski and, last but not least Steve Nelson. It is specialized in digital manufacturing with a unique 3D printing technology and based in Redwood City, California. Joseph DeSimone presented the company’s holistic manufacturing solution of their first commercial M1 3D printer on the TED stage in 2015. In this talk, Jo explains how 3D printing is revolutionizing the manufacturing industry. Furthermore, he gives an insight into the platform’s combination of software, hardware, and molecular science such as the CLIP-process (=Continuous Liquid Interface Production > part of Digital Light Synthesis).

Carbon 3D printer in the United Kingdom

PLG Global is going to be the second company to implement the Carbon M1 3D printer into their commercial services in the United Kingdom. Our digital manufacturing plant in Nottingham (Midlands) guarantees your local manufacturing process to be overviewed easily and provides direct face-to-face consultation.

This is your opportunity to profit from one of the fastest 3D printing technologies – suitable for serial production in a large scale.

Carbon 3D parts
Carbon 3D

Why is the Carbon 3D printer faster than other additive manufacturers?

Carbon’s core technology, based on the Continuous Liquid Inferface Production (=CLIP), is called Digital Light Synthesis (=DLS). It works without a layer by layer approach. Therefore, the printed objects have more consistent technical properties and make it possible to exploit a range of materials that have the details needed for end-use parts.

Generally, Carbon’s DLS-technology combines the fast “Continuous Liquid Interface Production” (=CLIP) method with a secondary heating-process, which changes the chemical composition of the printing material after it has been printed. Similar to the Stereolithography (=SLA) process, objects are made from liquid resin, that is primarily cured with UV-light.

Adidas and Carbon’s DLS Technology

After Carbon has implemented the Digital Light Synthesis TM into Adidas’ manufacturing process, the company became globally known. Their new Futurecraft 4D Sneaker is partially produced with light and oxygen by utilizing Digital Light Synthesis. This process successfully cuts Adidas’ manufacturing costs and increases their production speed.

Cutting edge Carbon materials

Objects of other approaches are relying on their printing-direction. The final heating phase of the DLS-process initiates a chemical reaction inside of the semi-cured object that determines its properties. This process helps us to offer the best suitable material for the desired needs. From high-strength automotive materials to consumer product elastomers, we are able to provide a range of applications. Our printers manufacture objects with high resolution and engineering-grade mechanical properties. Be one of the pioneers to access cutting-edge Carbon materials with PLG Global.
